Ugh, I hate being sick.
Plus, I'm getting so tired of this cold, and snow, and bleh. COME ON SPRING!
Another day at work, and the project this time around is to purge all the files that have past the date of retention. Which of course means stirring up all the file dust in the room. :cough-cough:
Afterwards, Dad and I went to grab pizza at Wally's, then run over to Borders to pick the LOST Season 5 DVDs and the latest FullMetal Alchemist.
Happy wolf!

January 12th
Welcome to a new year. Wasn't it predicted we'd be space veterns by now? Two thousand ten. Wow.
Anyway, another day at work. Slow, as usual, as I spent most of the day straightening out the mess I created when I yanked all the old files out of the storage shed and just put them into a box with no regard for order. Um, yeah...
After work, went for a hike along the foothill of Prison Hill, that was a fun, cold, and dark mile back and forth to the truck.
Caught up with Dad for dinner before heading to Starbucks to work on the slides given to me by the Rock art Foundation. Tarry stopped by briefly to say howdy and I got two boxes done.
Another good day.

December 12th
Class finals are next week, and I'm seriously going to fail the math one. I just flat out cannot remember how to do this stuff. All in all it took me over 8 hours to finish the sample test, and class is only an hour long. Yeah. I'll be lucky to do even two problems.
Otherwise, spent the day at home. Another snow storm rolled in and continued to dump snow onto the valley. All you out in serious snow country can stop laughing now, down here getting more than a few inches that don't melt by the next day is bizarre. And getting over a foot in one storm in one night is downright strange.
Was invited to go watch UFC 107 at Firkin Fox with Puzzleman, Bookmarked, and busa. I'd seen these fights on the sports shows but never been at one where the entire place is rooting for one of the fighters, nor been at one with friends who are into it. Definitely made the experience better. I'm not knowledgeable about it enough to comment, but it was cool. I definitely liked the Penn v Sanchez fight.

November 12th
A drizzly day. I've just been tired lately, so I found myself running late to work. Again, nothing really interesting happened, so by the end of the day, I just grabbed my laundry and headed over. Been reading the Chronicle's of Amber that I'd found in Borders. Big Book! I still like the original series over the next generation. Give me Corwin any day.
Had dinner with dad at Firkin/Fox before settling in to reading some more at home.
Interesting, huh?

October 12th
Just another day at work, though today is also Math class.
Nothing interesting happened. My GPS has been acting up, so I called Garmin to find out what I can do. They recommended doing a software update. Uh, okay.

September 12th
Today dad and I went out to do most of the setup for Diabolical 2.
While the day was overcast and a slight drizzle, we didn't think that would do anything to dampen our plans, so up the mountain we went.
Got rained on at Stage 1, no biggie. Stage 2 was warm and sunny and I was able to get the paint on. Stage 3 we began setting out the line which required pushing broken paperclips into the ground to hold in place. While Dad was pushing one in, I snapped a picture and my flash went off because of the overcast darkness. Pocketing the camera, I bent over to push a clip in when a second flash went off.
Huh?
CRACK!!!!! Lightning had struck 1000 feet from us just over the hill and the thunder just ripped the air apart. We dropped everything and ran to the truck, and that's when we noticed the smoke. Dry cheat grass and lightning don't mix and a 6 acre fire had just started. We raced down the hill, with NDF waiting at the bottom for us to get off the mountain, and their big off road truck flew up the hill.
We spent the rest of the day caching with Dad's GPS - because as I said, we dropped everything, and my Garmin was destined to spend the night outside, patiently averaging the most accurate coordinates for Stage 3.

August 12th
The first day of an awesome adventure!
The whole day started at midnight with me, Dad, nvsrvyr, EJC265, and Puzzleman hanging out on the back of my dad's truck watching the Perseid's going overhead up on McClellan. We saw a few, but mostly just spent the time chatting and bundling up from the chill wind.
After a good night's sleep it was a quick final pack up before Puzzleman came over to pick me up and we were off to his house to load up the Jeep and nvsrvyr's Yukon! Today was the first day of a week long camping/exploring/camping trip through central Nevada that would end at the Boundary Peak event.
We headed straight out highway 50, grabbing caches along the way for Puzzleman's DeLorme Challenge, and the occasional benchmark for nvsrvyr. Some beautiful locations, fantastic caches, and awesome friends were discovered throughout the day.
We ended up at Spencer's Hot Springs outside of Austin and set up camp. This is the first time I've been camping in many many years and the burbling spring nearby along with the herd of wild burros definitely made it an interesting night.
I had so much fun!!
