Discovered a marker today that until this moment I had been totally ignorant of. This is a good day.
Today was the standard work day. Started off the morning by working on my Wherigo project - a walking tour of old Carson City along the Kit Carson blue line trail. Managed to get about 12 houses finished, out of 34. I'm getting there.
While examining the map for the trail, I noticed a dot indicating the original location of Eagle Station, the very first structure in the valley (soon named Eagle Valley due to the builders shooting and mounting an eagle to the Station). Bill and I drove over to investigate.
Inside the yard of a business right on 5th street, behind some bushes, there was the marker. I've driven by this place numerous times, but due to the bushes had no clue about the marker! Oh today is a great day! Also discovered what I think to be the old carriage house/horse stables for the children attending intermediate and high school in what is now the block with Dr. S. L. Lee's house.
Drove around afterwards just snapping pictures of the houses, but time forbid me from getting the great shots I want to post on the wherigo cartridge. So off to work. Which, again, was boring!! I think I ended up with maybe three hours of work, simply cause I've been off the last two days. Fiddled around looking for various projects to take up my time. There was one big rush at the Club Booth which occupied a half hour. That was fun.
Came home and sat watching the first season of Lost. I just bought the second season and so need a refresher as to what has happened so far.
Here's the link to the pictures I took today: January 12th
